Corrosion Protection Anode

Cathodic protection anodes utilize the working principle of electrochemical protection to add electrons to the metal to be protected, offsetting the loss of electrons from the protected metal, and converting the active area of the metal surface into an inactive area, thus reducing the rate of corrosion of the metal.
There are two specific types of cathodic protection anodes:

One is the applied current method, also known as ICCP anode, commonly known as mmo anode, which is a mixed precious metal coated on a titanium substrate,THT specializes in mmo anode and has many years of experience in the production of titanium anodes, which are used in a wide variety of cathodic protection applications.

The other is the Sacrificial Anode Method, which is commonly used with anode metals such as zinc, aluminum and magnesium.

How to choose between sacrificial anode and mmo anode?

1.In environments with high resistivity, sacrificial anodes are not effective in protecting pipelines from corrosion, in which case an external current system needs to be introduced to achieve protection using MMO anodes.

2.If the project has a high demand for life and maintenance, and the application scenario is complex and large, MMO anode is the ideal choice. However, MMO anodes need to be equipped with power supply and control system, and the cost is relatively higher than sacrificial anodes.
