MMO Anode Wire
THT MMO anode wire is widely used in different environments due to its excellent electrocatalytic activity, conductivity, outstanding corrosion resistance, long lifespan, and dimensional stability.
The production of MMO anode wire involves coating on titanium wire substrate with various precious metal oxides (such as IrO2 Ta2O5, or RuO2IrO2). The composition of these oxides can be adjusted to adapt to different environments, such as seawater, freshwater, soil, etc., with varying working currents and lifespan requirements after high-temperature sintering.
MMO titanium wire is a common type of titanium anode used in impressed current cathodic protection systems, also known as DSA titanium anode, DSE titanium anode, NMCA titanium anode, among others.

Cathodic Protection
MMO anode wire is widely used in cathodic protection. Its working principle involves connecting the titanium anode wire as an anode material to the protected metal. The protected metal acts as the cathode, while the titanium anode wire undergoes electrochemical reactions. This process shifts the potential on the surface of the protected metal to a more negative value, preventing spontaneous metal oxidation reactions, thereby slowing down or preventing corrosion.
Its main applications include:
- Marine platforms, ships, and underwater pipelines, preventing steel structures from corroding in seawater, thereby extending the lifespan of ships.
- Using titanium anode wire to prevent soil corrosion of pipeline metals.
