MMO Linear Anode

THT MMO Linear Anode overcomes the challenges commonly associated with traditional cathodic protection systems, such as uneven current distribution when the pipeline’s corrosion protection layer breaks down, poor protection, and limitations in application on complex terrains and structures.

Our MMO Linear Anode can be laid close to the pipeline being protected, minimizing current loss to the soil, effectively reducing current leakage, and significantly improving the efficiency of protection current utilization. In addition, it reduces grounding resistance, provides higher current discharge density, and ensures an even distribution of current potential. During pipeline maintenance, our MMO Linear Anode is able to efficiently perform cathodic protection, providing long-lasting and reliable corrosion protection.

Our MMO Linear Anode production process consists primarily of the production of titanium anode wires, the connection of the titanium anode wires to the internal cables, the filling of the coke powder, and the wrapping of the external fabrics and mechanically braided protective mesh.

1. Titanium Anode Wire Production
We use Gr1 pure titanium wire conforming to ASTM B863 as the anode base material. Depending on the specific application environment, current density and life expectancy, we treat the titanium anode wires with repeated mixed metal oxide (MMO) coatings and sinter them at high temperatures to ensure that the coatings have excellent electrical conductivity and corrosion resistance.

2. Connection between anode wire and cable
Titanium anode wire is strictly matched with the length of copper core cable. Every 3 meters ±5% interval, we adopt automatic control parameter injection molding technology to mechanically crimp them to ensure the anti-corrosion sealing of the nodes. The sealing layer is lapped with the insulation layer at both ends of the cable for a length of not less than 35mm to ensure that there is no gap at the end and the combined surface of the lapped section to prevent current leakage and corrosion.

3. Filling with coke powder
In order to enhance the electrical conductivity, we use highly conductive calcined petroleum coke powder. The coke powder is wrapped around the titanium anode wire and copper core cable in a ring shape and reasonable packing density to ensure the stability of current transmission and reduce energy loss.

4. External wrapping
Finally, the titanium anode wires and cables are wrapped around with a wear-resistant fabric covering, supplemented by a mechanically woven protective mesh. This structure not only increases the durability of the anode, but also provides additional mechanical protection for applications in complex environments.

1. Environmental treatment before laying: Ensure that the soil in the laying area is level, remove all sharp objects and other obstacles that may damage the flexible titanium anode, and prevent the anode from being mechanically damaged in the process of use.

2. Trench bottom depth inspection: check whether the depth of the laying trench bottom is in accordance with the design standard, and make sure that the elevation of the trench bottom is accurate in order to achieve the best protective effect.

3. Orientation check: check whether the orientation of the laying trench is consistent with the drawing, especially at the corners, the flexible titanium anode should be appropriately corrected to avoid anode damage and uneven current distribution.

4. Preventing mechanical damage: In the process of laying, avoid dragging the flexible titanium anode wire on the ground or rubbing it with cement piles, so as to prevent the anode wire and woven mesh bag from being worn out and broken due to mechanical damage or chemical corrosion.

5. On-off detection and length confirmation: After laying is completed, use a multimeter to detect the on-off condition of the anode to make sure the circuit connection is normal. And measure and confirm the actual length of the anode wire to ensure that it meets the design requirements.

6. Cable connection and sealing: firmly connect the cable of flexible titanium anode with the power output cable to ensure reliable joints and good insulation, and do a good job of sealing the joints to prevent water ingress or other electrical failures caused by external factors.

7. Backfill protection: After the cable connection is completed, use special backfill protection material to cover the flexible titanium anode and cable to ensure that they are fully protected against possible damage after construction.

8 .Testing and debugging: after the installation is completed, use the potential measuring meter and current output testing meter to carry out comprehensive testing and debugging to ensure that all parts of the system work properly and achieve the designed cathodic protection effect.
