THT MMO titanium anodes are widely utilized in various cathodic protection environments and exported worldwide.MMo ribbon anode normally assembles with titanium conductor bar and a resistance welder.
The titanium substrate is titanium plate strip or titanium mesh strip(after coating called MMO ribbon mesh anode) and is applied a layer of mixed precious metal oxides (such as Ir-Ru or Ir-Ta) then with excellent conductivity and corrosion resistance .The primary function of titanium anodes is to supply current in cathodic protection systems to prevent corrosion of metal structures, such as underground tank bottoms and reinforced concrete structures.

THT MMO titanium anode ribbon character includes:

Working Principle
The external DC power source is connected to the MMO ribbon anode (acting as the positive electrode) and the protected metal structure (such as underground tank bottoms or reinforced concrete structures acting as the negative electrode). This connection allows the cathodic surface to generate a negative potential in the electrochemical reaction, preventing oxidation reactions and thus inhibiting corrosion. The anodic reaction occurring on the anode (titanium anode ribbon) leads to the oxidation of the anode material, typically a noble metal oxide coating. However, this consumption rate is usually low and uniform, not affect cathodic protection and keep long lifespan.
Application
- MMO mesh ribbon anode for underground tank bottom protection: In China, dozens of large oil storage tanks with capacities ranging from 50,000 to 100,000 cubic meters in Guangdong, Beijing, Ningbo, and other places are protected by mesh anode cathodic protection. The use of deep well anodes and sacrificial anodes is limited as it does not generate stray currents.
- Protection of concrete components such as parking lots and highway bridge decks generally employs titanium anode mesh. The mesh-coated titanium grid can be directly fixed on the surface or columns, with low anode current density and light weight, ensuring a lifespan of at least 25 years.
- Cathodic protection for ships: Dock structures, offshore platforms, and ship hulls are protected from corrosion in seawater environments by the cathodic protection provided by titanium anode mesh.
- Pipeline protection: Titanium anode mesh is utilized to protect pipelines from corrosion, especially in areas with severe soil erosion or high levels of stray currents.
