THT Titanium Electrode For Electrolysis
According to different applications, THT titanium anodes can be coated with various types of coatings. Currently, there are two main types of DSA (Dimensionally Stable Anode) titanium anodes: MMO (Mixed Metal Oxide) titanium anode and platinum coated titanium anode.
MMO titanium anodes are suitable for various chlor-alkali electrolysis processes, such as the production of chlorates, seawater electrolysis, sodium hypochlorite production, and electrolysis of water for disinfection purposes. Additionally, MMO titanium anodes can be used for oxygen evolution electrolysis, for the extraction of non-ferrous metals such as zinc, cadmium, copper, manganese, cobalt, chromium, nickel, as well as in the copper foil electrolysis process in hydrometallurgy.
Platinum coated titanium anodes are primarily used in water electrolysis for hydrogen production, including ionized water electrolysis devices, super acidic water electrolysis devices, and other water electrolysis equipment.
In summary, depending on the specific electrolysis requirements, choosing the appropriate MMO titanium anode or platinum coated titanium anode can fulfill a wide range of electrolysis applications across various industries.
Titanium Anode for Water Electrolysis
THT titanium anodes can generate a powerful oxidizing agent during water electrolysis, typically chlorine gas or hypochlorite, O3, H2O2, HCLO, etc. These oxidizing agents can effectively kill bacteria, viruses, and other microorganisms in water, thereby achieving sterilization and disinfection. Compared to traditional chemical disinfection methods, electrolysis of water for sterilization and disinfection does not produce harmful by-products and also does not alter the taste or odor of water. Therefore, titanium anode electrolysis of water for sterilization and disinfection is widely used in various fields such as drinking water treatment, swimming pool water treatment.

Titanium Anode for Electrolysis in Metallurgy
THT titanium anodes can be used to electrolytically extract metals in chloride solutions, sulfuric acid solutions, and mixed solutions of chlorides and sulfates. They overcome the issues of high energy consumption, low strength, and cathode contamination associated with traditional graphite anodes. Additionally, they significantly reduce cell voltage, making production operation and management easier.
Within the electrolytic cell, titanium anodes conduct electricity and facilitate the electrolysis of metals. Metal ions are oxidized and released at the anode, while the metal deposits at the cathode. Titanium anodes exhibit excellent corrosion resistance and stability in electrolytic metallurgy, enduring extreme chemical environments and high temperatures. Their durability makes them indispensable in the metallurgical industry, widely employed in the production processes of metals such as aluminum, magnesium, and zinc. Thus, titanium anodes play a crucial role in electrolytic metallurgy, providing a reliable electrochemical tool for metal production.
