Medical Titanium Plate
Medical titanium plates are classified into medical pure titanium plate and medical titanium alloy plate based on their titanium content. With many years of experience in manufacturing titanium plate, THT’s medical titanium plates are widely used in bone fracture fixation, surgery and skull due to their irreplaceable characteristics:
Low density, lightweight, and high strength: Titanium density is lower than that other metals, reducing the patient’s physical burden while maintaining high strength.
Biocompatibility: Titanium interacts well with human tissues when implanted, no rejection or allergic reactions. It bonds firmly with bone tissue, stability and durability within the body.
Non-magnetic:Patients with titanium implants to safely undergo magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) without interference.
Ease of processing: Medical titanium plate is easy be formed into complex shapes medical devices and implants, meeting diverse surgical needs.
Antibacterial properties: Medical titanium reduces postoperative infection risk and improve the success rate of surgeries and patient recovery outcomes.

Medical Pure Titanium Grades:
- Grade 1: Pure titanium, the softest, with excellent formability and corrosion resistance.
- Grade 2: Pure titanium, stronger than Grade 1, with good formability and corrosion resistance.
- Grade 4: Pure titanium, the strongest, with very high corrosion resistance and strength.
Medical Titanium Alloy Grades:
- Grade 5 (Ti-6Al-4V): An alloy made of 6% aluminum and 4% vanadium, with very high strength and fracture resistance. It is the most commonly used titanium alloy, widely used in dental and orthopedic implants.
- Grade 23 (Ti-6Al-4V ELI): A low interstitial alloy made of 6% aluminum and 4% vanadium. It is commonly used in dental implants and has higher biocompatibility.
- Ti6Al7Nb:Formed by an alloy of 6% aluminum and 7% niobium, it is widely utilized in hip joints, knee joints, and bone fracture fixation.
- Ti13Nb13Zr:Formed by alloying titanium (Ti), aluminum (Al), and niobium (Nb), it is widely utilized in medical fields such as orthopedics and dentistry.
THT is one of the few specialized manufacturers in China for titanium and titanium alloy used in surgical implants. Our factory is located in Baoji City, Shaanxi Province, covering an area of 10,000 square meters. We have over 40 pieces of equipment, including centerless grinders, centerless lathes, two-roll precision straightening machines, drawing machines, pulling straightening machines, six-roll straightening machines, lathes, saws, box-type electric furnaces, tube-type electric furnaces, automated welding robots, and machining centers. Our comprehensive processing equipment, advanced technology, and thorough testing methods ensure stable product quality and superior technical performance, establishing a good reputation among users over the years.
The company strictly adheres to ISO 9001 standards for production. We produce titanium plates from titanium raw materials, with arc-shaped titanium plates having thicknesses ranging from 3-5mm, titanium alloy rod specifications ranging from ∮8-200mm, polished rod specifications ranging from ∮6-20mm, titanium tubes, titanium strips, titanium foil, titanium wire, and titanium machined products. We have Rockwell analyzers, CTS-22A/B ultrasonic flaw detectors, and WDW-100 electronic universal material testing machines to ensure the quality of batch materials and semi-finished products. Product inspections are sent to the Northwest Supervision and Inspection Center of China Nonferrous Metals Industry (which holds a national certificate of metrological qualification), ensuring reliable inspection results.

Quality Control -1
In the production process of medical titanium plates, the selection of raw materials is crucial from the outset. We opt for high-purity grade 0 or grade 1 sponge titanium and collaborate with suppliers certified under ISO 9001 quality management system and ISO 13485 medical device quality management system. This ensures that our products have a solid foundation of high quality from the very beginning.
Throughout the production process, we strictly adhere to the requirements of the ISO 9001 quality management system. We rigorously control parameters such as processing temperature, pressure, speed, and time to ensure the processing quality and consistency of our products. Additionally, we establish multiple quality checkpoints to monitor and inspect raw materials, semi-finished products, and finished products throughout the entire production process. This includes chemical composition analysis, metallographic microscopy examination, hardness testing, tensile testing, among others, to ensure that our products meet international standards and customer requirements.
Quality Control-2
For medical titanium plates with a thickness ranging from 0.5 to 1.0 millimeters, we enforce very strict tolerance control, achieving tolerances of 0-0.08 millimeters. We employ 100% ultrasonic/eddy current testing method, immersing the titanium products in a water tank, and conducting reciprocating tests while the instrument rotates on the product surface. We observe the peaks displayed on the instrument. If there is a sudden increase in peak values, it indicates internal non-uniformity in the titanium product. We promptly address any metallurgical defects and impurities of non-ferrous metals to ensure that product quality reaches the highest level.
Through these rigorous quality control measures, we can ensure that our medical titanium plates have excellent quality and stable performance, meeting customer demands and gaining market trust.

What is difference between industrial titanium sheet and medical titanium sheet?
- Purity and Chemical Composition: Medical titanium plates are subject to strict control of purity and chemical composition to ensure their safety and biocompatibility in the medical field. Industrial titanium plates have relatively lower requirements for purity and chemical composition, usually only needing to meet relevant industrial standards.
- Manufacturing Standards: The production and manufacturing of medical titanium plates strictly adhere to medical standards such as ASTM F67/ASTM F136, while industrial titanium plates refer to standards such as ASTM B265.
- Surface Treatment and Machining Precision: Medical titanium plates require higher surface treatment and machining precision, often necessitating fine polishing to ensure surface smoothness and sterility. Industrial titanium plates have relatively lower requirements for surface treatment and machining precision, usually only needing to meet basic requirements for industrial applications.
- Application : Medical titanium plates are mainly used for manufacturing medical devices and implants such as artificial joints, dental implants, etc., requiring materials and manufacturing processes to comply with strict medical standards and regulations. Industrial titanium plates are primarily used in industries such as aerospace, automotive, and chemical, typically for manufacturing components and structural parts.
The internal packaging utilizes sanitary-grade plastic film or moisture-resistant paper to prevent contamination and scratching of the medical titanium plate surfaces. Each layer is separated by foam padding, and finally, the external packaging is an export-grade wooden crate.
