Titanium Welded Tube VS Titanium Seamless Tube
1. Different production processes: Titanium welded pipes are mainly made through welding processes, while titanium seamless pipes are mainly made through rolling processes
2. Different performance characteristics of titanium pipes: Due to different production processes, the roundness and wall thickness of titanium seamless pipes are better than those of titanium welded pipes. Under high temperature and high pressure, titanium seamless pipes are more corrosion-resistant and pressure resistant than titanium welded pipes
3. Different production standards: The main production standards for titanium welded pipes are ASTM B338, ASTM B862, etc., while the main production standards for titanium seamless pipes are ASTM B338, ASTM B861, etc
4. Price difference: The rolling process of titanium seamless pipes is complex and the cost rate is low. Under the same specifications, titanium welded pipes are much more competitive than titanium seamless pipes
Application
Titanium welded pipes are suitable for low-pressure applications and pipeline systems, with different grades serving different purposes.
GR1 titanium welded pipes are primarily used for heating elements, exhaust systems, titanium water cups, as well as applications requiring bending or shaping.
GR2 and GR12 titanium welded pipes are commonly used in the manufacturing of chemical equipment, such as heat exchangers, condensers, reactors, pipeline systems, etc. In chemical equipment applications, GR2 is recommended for fluid temperatures at ambient levels, while GR12 is recommended for higher fluid temperatures.
Titanium Grade 5 (Ti-6Al-4V) pipes are typically utilized in aerospace, medical, chemical processing, marine, sports, and oil and gas industries. Their high strength, corrosion resistance, and lightweight properties make them well-suited for applications including aircraft components, implants, chemical equipment, shipbuilding, sports equipment, and components in the oil and gas sector.
