DSA Anode
DSA anode full name is dimensionally stable anode, is a titanium substrate or niobium substrate coated with a noble metal mixed oxide catalyst, so that it has electrocatalytic activity, high electrical conductivity, stability and strong corrosion resistance, also known as mmo anode (mixed metal oxide electrode) which is widely used in chlor-alkali, sewage treatment, seawater desalination, sodium hypochlorite production, electroplating and other industries.
THT could customize different type DSA anode according to customer design in different working environment.

DSA Anode Advantage
1. Dimensional stable: DSA anodes are dimensionally stable in very low pH environments, ensuring that work efficiency is not compromised.
2. Energy saving: Compared to lead and graphite anodes, DSA anodes have a significantly lower potential and therefore consume significantly less electricity.
3. Non-degradable: DSA anodes overcome the degradation of graphite electrodes during chlorine production (e.g., chlor-alkali and sodium chlorate manufacturing) and perform excellent durability in chlorine environments.
4. Low oxygen overpotential: In copper electrolysis and zinc electrowinning processes, the addition of iridium improves the corrosion resistance and electrochemical efficiency of DSA anodes in sulfuric acid (H₂SO₄) solutions.
5. Non-pollution: Compared with traditional lead anodes, DSA anodes do not release harmful heavy metal substances, reducing pollution to the environment and meeting the requirements of green environmental protection.
DSA Anode Design
Our engineers design DSA anodes based on the following key parameters to ensure that their performance fully meets customer requirements:
- Operating current density and voltage
- Specific composition of the electrolyte
- Process usage
- Operating temperature
- PH range
- Whether reverse polarity operation is required
- Structure and size of electrolyzer Lifetime requirements
- Installation distance between anode and cathode
By accurately considering these parameters, we are able to provide a customized DSA anode solution for each customer.

DSA Anode Using Tips
DSA anode belongs precious metal coated electrodes, during using below is small tips for reference:
- Ruthenium iridium titanium anode is prohibited to apply in the environment of sulfuric acid, nitric acid or hydrogen peroxide.
- The electrolyte should be kept stable, especially it should not contain cyanide ions and fluoride ions, such impurities will seriously corrode the titanium substrate and affect the electrode performance.
- The working temperature of the electrolyte should not be too high, the ideal temperature is 25-40 ℃, conditions allow the installation of heat exchange equipment to maintain the best working environment of the electrode.
- During installation and use, the surface of the coating should be avoided to be scratched by any foreign objects. Once the coating is scratched or damaged, the electrode will be corroded or peeled off from the damaged part during the electrolysis process, which will affect the service life and effect of the electrode.
Yes, we could customize according to the design.
If normal design with small quantities, our production lead time is one week after payment.
If special design with mass quantities, our production lead time would be around 20days after payment. Exact production lead time you could talk with our sales.
We have no MOQ about DSA anode.
1. Regularly check DSA anode surface , working current and voltage for any abnormality.
2. Clean the anode surface regularly to make sure there is no scale, pollutants, deposits and so on.
3. Monitor the electrolyte regularly to make sure the composition is stable and avoid fluoride ion or cyanide ion.
4. Regularly monitor the temperature, the appropriate temperature is 25-40℃.
5. Check for mechanical damage to protect the coating from scratches or damage.
We have Iridium oxide coated titanium anode specially used in stronf acid working environment.
