1. Raw material cutting
Based on the drawings provided by the customer, pure titanium sheet and pure titanium mesh are first precisely cut to ensure that the dimensions of each component meet the design requirements. The cut titanium sheet and mesh provide the basis for subsequent processing.
2. Argon arc welding
The cut titanium strip, titanium mesh and other components are welded through the argon arc welding process to ensure that the welded joints are solid, crack-free, and to ensure that the welded parts have good electrical conductivity and mechanical strength. TIG welding ensures the overall structure of the titanium anode basket is stable and free from stress concentration.
3. Bending molding
The frame and hook of the titanium anode basket are formed by precision bending to ensure that the shape of the finished product meets the design requirements. The whole bending process is carefully controlled to avoid cracks or deformations, to ensure that each component can be accurately adapted, and to guarantee the structural strength of the anode basket.
4. Acid washing and cleaning
The surface of the titanium anode basket is cleaned by removing the oxidized layer or welding residue through the acid washing process, which provides an excellent substrate for the subsequent surface treatment and coating process. Acid washing can effectively remove unnecessary impurities on the surface of titanium to ensure the adhesion of coating.
5. Sand blasting treatment
The surface of the titanium anode basket is sandblasted to increase the surface roughness and provide better adhesion for the precious metal coating. The sandblasted surface is uniform and has tiny concave and convex structures, which effectively improves the adhesion and electrolytic properties of the coating.
6. Precious metal coating ratio
According to the customer’s product requirements and process conditions, we can accurately formulate the right precious metal (e.g. MMO coating or platinum coating). The ratio of precious metal coatings is crucial in determining the corrosion resistance, electrical conductivity and service life of the titanium anode baskets.
7. Coating process and high temperature sintering
Using a brushing process, the formulated precious metal is evenly applied to the surface of the titanium basket. After each layer is applied, it is sintered at a low temperature of 480°C to solidify the coating and bond it closely to the titanium surface. Each coat is sintered to ensure stability and uniformity.
8. Repeated Coating and Sintering
The coating and sintering process is repeated to ensure that the thickness and quality of the final coating is up to standard according to the customer’s requirements for the service life of the titanium anode basket. The sintering time and temperature of each coating is strictly controlled according to specific requirements to ensure the corrosion resistance and electrolytic effect of the coating.

Application Case
Customers use our Ir-Ru-TiO₂ Titanium Anode Basket in the anodizing process to achieve the final anodized coloration of titanium. With this highly efficient Titanium Anode Basket, the customer can achieve precise and uniform coloring results without the risk of cadmium contamination and in compliance with environmental requirements.
In this process, the customer uses graphite as the cathode, and the Titanium Anode Basket mesh size is a diamond shape of 10x5mm, which provides excellent electrolytic performance and stable operation. Our Ir-Ru-TiO₂ titanium electrode mesh, due to its excellent corrosion resistance and efficient catalytic performance, can maintain efficient and stable operation during the long time anodizing process, ensuring the quality and reliability of the product.
Titanium Anode Basket VS Titanium Basket
1. Application
Titanium Basket is mainly used in electroplating, electrolysis and other chemical treatments as a container or support for the articles. It is not directly involved in the electrolysis reaction, but is used to carry and support the objects to be treated, and to maintain the stability and even distribution of the articles in the electrolysis tank, so as to ensure that the electroplating or cleaning process is carried out smoothly.
While in the electrolysis process, the titanium anode basket not only serves as a support, but also directly participates in the current conduction and electrolysis reaction. It carries the anode electrode material and interacts with the current and electrolyte in the electrolyzer to complete the electrolysis process such as metal deposition or anodizing.
2. Cost
Titanium basket is mainly made of titanium hook, titanium mesh and titanium plate which are manufactured by bending and welding process, the cost is relatively low, which mainly includes titanium materials and basic processing cost.
In addition to the basic fabrication cost of the titanium basket, the titanium anode basket requires additional precious metal coatings (e.g., MMO coatings or platinum coatings) to improve corrosion resistance and electrolysis performance. As a result, the cost of the titanium anode basket is higher, with the cost of the precious metal coating being the main additional cost.

Attention
On Titanium Anode Basket For Electroplating
In order to ensure titanium anode basket maintains good performance and long life during electroplating, the following points are of particular concern:
1. Choose the right electrolyte
– Keep the electrolyte clean and free from pollution:
The quality of electrolyte directly affects the plating effect and the service life of titanium anode basket. The composition and pH value of the electrolyte should be checked regularly to ensure that it meets the required standards. Replace the electrolyte regularly to prevent contaminants from affecting the plating quality and to ensure that the dissolved substances in the electrolyte do not contain harmful substances.
– Avoid using strongly acidic or alkaline electrolytes:
Strongly acidic or alkaline electrolyte may cause corrosion to the titanium anode basket and shorten its service life. Therefore, the electrolyte suitable for the material of the titanium anode basket should be selected, and the use of electrolyte corrosive to titanium should be avoided.
– The electrolyte composition needs to be provided before customizing MMO coated titanium anode baskets:
To ensure that the precious metal coating of titanium anode baskets can adapt to the specific electrolysis environment, customers need to provide detailed electrolyte composition and pH value when customizing MMO (Mixed Metal Oxide) coated titanium anode baskets. This will help us to customize a more suitable coating formula for you, which will improve the plating effect and the service life of the anode basket.
2. Reasonable control of current density and voltage
– Avoid excessive current density:
Excessive current density will lead to overheating of the titanium anode basket, which may cause flaking of the precious metal coating or uneven plating, thus affecting the plating quality. The current density should be reasonably adjusted according to the design of the electrolyzer and the characteristics of the electrolyte to ensure a stable electrolytic process.
– Control voltage stability:
Excessive voltage will lead to violent reaction of electrolyte, increase the burden of anode basket, and may even lead to rupture of coating or unsatisfactory plating effect. Therefore, make sure the voltage is stable and avoid voltage fluctuation.
3. Plating temperature control
– Keep the temperature between 20-50℃:
Temperature control is critical during the plating process. Too high a temperature will cause the precious metal coating off or reduce the adhesion of the coating, affecting the plating effect; too low a temperature will cause the plating reaction to slow down, affecting the deposition rate.
4. Regularly maintain and clean the titanium anode baskets
– Check the integrity of the precious metal coating:
Precious metal coatings (e.g. MMO coatings) on titanium anode baskets are critical to plating results. Regularly check the thickness and uniformity of the coating to ensure that it is not peeling or damaged. If damage to the coating is found, it needs to be re-coated promptly to ensure that the anode basket continues to perform optimally.
– Clean the titanium anode basket regularly:
During use, the titanium anode basket may accumulate deposits, oil or electrolytic slag from the electrolyte, which can affect plating quality. The titanium anode basket should be cleaned regularly with a mild detergent and a soft brush, avoiding the use of strong acid or alkali detergents that may damage the coating or corrode the titanium.
5. Maintain good electrolyte flow
– Make sure the electrolyte flows evenly:
The fluidity of the electrolyte is critical to plating results. Ensure that the electrolyte in the electrolyzer has good circulation to avoid dead zones or uneven flow. Good fluidity helps the surface of the titanium anode basket to come into even contact with the electrolyte, thus ensuring the uniformity of the plating process and preventing localized over-plating or under-plating.
6. Avoid external damage to the titanium anode basket
– Avoid impact and excessive pulling:
Although the surface coating of titanium anode baskets is strong, it is still necessary to avoid being hit or pulled excessively during use. These external forces may cause coating breakage or titanium deformation, which may affect the plating effect. Appropriate protective measures should be taken during transportation and storage to avoid physical damage.
